North America gets its Second DISC from Accenture

CHICAGO, IL: A second Digital Insurance Solution Center (DISC) has been inaugurated in Chicago, North America by Accenture. The purpose of DISCs is to provide clients opportunities to test digital insurance products and solutions through proof of concept pilots to validate offerings that can help solve business challenges of recent times.

Next generation IT architecture featuring cloud-based assets, web services, and multi-channel, telematics and data analytics capabilities forms the core functionalities of DISC. It presents an environment where clients can review and interact with prototyped solutions, benchmark successes and failures from the past projects and use the experience gained to develop solutions that respond to the similar opportunities and challenges insurers might face.

According to a statement by Cindy De Armond, Managing Director of Accenture Property and Casualty Insurance Services and the Policy Services Offering Lead for North America, “DISC offers insurers a cost-efficient, low-risk way of experimenting with a wide range of technologies before deploying them to consumers, business partners or internally Accenture works with insurers in a state-of-the-art environment to help them explore emerging trends, such as robotics and drones, which is crucial as insurance companies are becoming more digital.” 

Working with clients, Accenture helps them to explore innovative technologies such as analytics, wearables, cloud and Internet of Things products and concepts. Insurers can gain access to data architecture along with scalable and upgradable infrastructure that is always on with minimal down time. The DISC also promotes Accenture Insights Platform, a cloud-based analytics-as-a-service solution; advanced analytics applications developed via Accenture Analytics Applications Platform such as the claims fraud application; Accenture Duck Creek Property & Casualty insurance software as well as Accenture’s ecosystem of partners and solution providers offering products such as reporting software and other technology services.
